It's Christmas Eve at 9:20 and I have so much to do. I have been so busy this week getting everything ready for our trip to Arkadelphia then Alabama. I have probably done 15 loads of laundry in the past 2 days. I have made 5 Christmas surprises that took half the day today. I have cleaned the house, messed up the house and then cleaned it again. I finished all the grocery shopping today and finished wrapping all the gifts.
Yesterday Jonathan and I decided to leave for Arkadelphia tomorrow. This is great but that means we have a busy day instore for us and I still have so much to do before we leave.
Hopefully we will be packed and on the road by 4! We are excited!
Lucy Abigail turned 5 months old today! I can't believe how fast time has raced by. I wish I could make time stand still but since I can't I have learned to enjoy every moment.
Lucy's 5 month Milestones:
Lucy you..... sleep through the night 10-13 hours each night, when you are awake you love to stand, you hate to sit in your swing, your favorite activity is to jump in your jumparoo (you jump for hours), you have started to say dada and you mean it, you still won't take a bottle but we are working on it, you go to sleep on your own now (we don't have to rock you, we just put you in your crib and you go to sleep), you love when your daddy walks in the room (you always smile so big), when your dog comes up you open your mouth really big so she will kiss your tongue (gross I know....), you roll over from your tummy to your back and you are working on rolling from your back to your tummy (you did it once but won't do it again) and you have become the most perfect baby in the world and I am so honored that God entrusted me with such a precious gift.
Hopefully everyone has gotten our Christmas card, if you haven't then this is our Christmas Picture!!
We have had a great weekend! Friday night Lucy and I went to Girls + Taylor night over at the Coble's House and Jonathan got to have a Nintendo night over at his friend Matt Green's House. We had a lot of fun. We baked cookies and then covered them in icing and sprinkles and then proceeded to make ourselves sick with too much sugar. Then we watched Mama Mia! It was a pretty good musical. Laura kept saying,"I wish I would have brought Ryan to the theater when they were playing the sing a long version." (we thought this was funny because he would have hated it and probably would have walked out)
*Note* Remember how I said Lucy didn't know what she was saying when she was saying Dada. Well the other day I finished nursing her and I sat her up to burp her, she looked right at her Dad and smiled the biggest smile and then said, "aye Dada". It was so sweet!
Saturday, Jonathan and I loaded up Lucy and headed to the Promenade to finish up some last minute shopping. It was cold. I felt really bad for bringing Lucy out in such cold weather but I made sure she was bundled up. After feeling how cold it was we went ahead and bought Lucy a little jacket. Actually it's a heavy duty winter jacket. I don't think she will get cold any time soon. (see picture below)
Sunday, We got up for church. I couldn't believe that we actually made it to the early service!! Lucy was great during the service. She looked around and smiled at the nice people behind us, who happened to be my sister and family. The only time she said a word was during prayer.
Anyway, that is our weekend and it wouldn't be a good weekend without some pictures!
Lucy getting ready to go shopping. This is her favorite thing in the world. Her bouncer. She loves to jump.
Lucy all bundled up in her new jacket. FYI: Gymboree is having a 25% off sale on everything in the store!
Lucy and I played dress up today. I guess you could say we were a little bored and needed something to do but honestly I love to play dress up with her. She looks good in everything. Here are some clothes that we are about to outgrow or are the wrong season.
Lucy wore this to a wedding in Sept. and she was so cute. It has little crabs crawling all over it.
My little ninja. I couldn't get these in the right order so here is the last picture. Grandcookie knitted us some shoes. and a sweater. I love this little dress. We were going to wear this to church on Sunday but someone decided she needed a nap instead. (Jonathan and I were already dressed to go, maybe next week) She will probably wear this to church Sunday so pretend like you haven't seen it if you are reading this and see us on Sunday. This outfit was our grandcookies when she was a little girl!
Last week I thought I was the best mom ever!! Lucy was sleeping 13 hours and taking 2 2-3 hour naps per day and for some reason I thought it was my accomplishment. Well this week Lucy has been getting up at least 1 time a night and has not been taking naps. Today she took 3 45 minute naps. I should have known that it was not my doing but instead Lucy is going to do what Lucy wants to do. I just hope maybe she will decide that sleeping is cool and she would like to do more of it.
Lucy has really been enjoying her Jumperoo! She recently learned that her legs could bend at the knee which makes for much better jumping! (she use to jump straight legged) She is really cute, when she wants to get out she will start yelling at us and jump really fast! She has also been calling for her Dad by saying DaaD! Both D's are really hard D's, she sounds like Bambi when he is saying Bird. I don't think she really knows what she is saying but she is pretty cute saying it!
Today Lucy wore her new furry sweater with the cutest matching corduroy pants (or bibery pants). I'm so glad I pulled it out of the closet today because even though it says 9 months we are about to out grow it. We may get another wear or two out of it and then we are going to pass it along to Emma Grace.
Funny Story, Lucy has outgrown a lot of her clothing. Like the 3-6 month stuff I bought for this winter last year. So we have been giving things to Emma Grace. My sister Laura has bought Emma Grace clothes that she thought she would be in now 6-12 months, so they have been giving clothes to us. It's nice having a cousin and sister near by!!
Anyway, back to Lucy's new outfit. She seems to like it!
Isn't she sweet!?!
This is where the baby got back comes into play.. I guess they are baby hip huggers and well crack showers. Zoomed out. Isn't that cute!! I promised Jonathan that when she was older she would not be able to wear clothes that showed off her booty but for now it's pretty cute!!
Lucy went to be at 8 last night and woke up this morning at 9! That is 13 hours!! I couldn't believe it, I also couldn't believe that I slept in until 9!
Many of you are wondering how I do it. Well here is my secret.. prayer and luck. I also wrap her up in 4 blankets so she is warm and toasty. I find she sleeps longer when she is warm. I remember when she was first born and I wouldn't wrap her in a blanket because in child birth class they told us not to let them sleep with loose blankets because your baby would die of SIDS or would suffocate. After a couple sleepless weeks I decided to bundle her up (thanks Laura, Mom and Becky for the advice, I know it took a while before I actually took it) ever since she has been sleeping so well.
Today after talking to my sister, Laura, I tried just laying Lucy in her bed when she starts to throw a fit. I did it twice today. After 10-15 minutes of crying she went to sleep. It is actually easier on me and easier on her if I just put her in her bed and let her cry a little than to try to rock her to sleep. (she usually screams at me for 30 minutes and then goes to sleep) It has been a pretty good day.
ALso, Lucy loves her JumpARoo. Today she would bounce in it and then look at me for approval like is this okay momma. She was so cute!! Thanks Again Grandcookie!!
Last night Lucy went to bed at 6:30. I assumed she would wake up before I went to bed but she didn't so I thought I might as well go to sleep. I thought she wake up by 2 or so, instead I woke up at 7:30 and still didn't hear her. SO I asked Jonathan to go in to the nursury with me... when we went in Lucy started to rub her little eyes but was still asleep. We finall had to wake her up!! I wonder how long she would have slept! I still can't believe she slept 13 hours!!!
We also had an appointment for her 4 month shots! Lucy was the bell of the ball this morning. Everyone wanted to talk to her and Lucy smiled and cood and laughed! and then.... she got her 3 shots and she yelled like I've never heard her yell before. She finally settled down. We went over to Manna's where Lucy in now taking a nap. I hope she just sleeps it off. SHe has been in a bad mood ever since she got her shots. poor baby.
Julee tagged me with this Christmas question tag.... I secretly wanted to be tagged, so here it goes!

8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa?
I remember it like yesterday. I was 4 or 5 and I was asleep when suddenly I was awoken to what I thought was Santa. I open the bedroom door and what I saw would change my life forever. My parents were standing outside the door with the attic latter down (to access the attic you had to go through a latter in the hallway, now days it's in the garage) and toys r us bags were everywhere. My dad was just as shocked as I was and when I realized what had happened I yelled "I have to go to the bathroom." My dad brought me to the bathroom and I remember sitting on the potty and crying.
With this said I don't know if we will tell Lucy about Santa, if she wants to believe that will be okay but we won't encourage it.

23. Do you dress up on Christmas or wear PJ's?
Pj's and then we get dressed up.
24. Do you own a Santa hat?
25. Who do you normally spend Christmas with?
Well, this year we are going to spend Christmas at home because I want Lucy to have her first Christmas here. We will do Christmas with my parents I think that afternoon and then we will go to Arkadelphia to be with Jonathan's family. After a few days in Arkadelphia we will spend a few days in Alabama/Tennessee with my Grandparents. We will be very busy.
This morning we went to have Breakfast with Santa at the church. We had a lot of fun. Lucy got to have her picture taken with Santa..... She was determined to pull his beard off and I just knew she would and then we would hear 100 kids screaming about how we ruined Christmas and how there wasn't a Santa. Good news... the beard stayed on!!
I'm thinking this should be our Christmas Card.... with the following greeting.....
Have a Crappy Christmas!
Love, The Bost's
I may send some of these out so just know it's a joke!
Lucy looks like she has been hitting the egg nogg a little too hard in this picture!
We also went to see the Christmas Lights in Fayetteville. It has become a little traditions since Jonathan and I have been together. I am looking forward to doing it with Lucy every year! It was cold and there was too much to look but Lucy seemed to have fun!
December 5 is a special day for us it marks our 6 year anniversary. We had our 3rd date/first kiss 6 years ago today. I remember it like yesterday, Jonathan came to pick me up from my dorm (yes dorm) and we went to eat at noodles ( i think... in my defense I can't remember what I ate yesterday either) and then we went to see the new James Bond movie!! To celebrate we are going to watch a movie in our pjs and eat some chicken lasagna! We are high rollers I know. I wish I had a picture of us from our first dating days on this computer. Oh well!
Here is a picture that we took in Venice while on our Engagement Trip!
Thursday-spent the day at Manna and G-daddy's and enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving Feast with them and the Coble Family. (we missed you Emily)
Friday- Laura and I got up at 3 to go shop the sales. (nothing was worth getting up that early) For the past 2 weeks I have been pumping milk in preparation for this day. Mom was going to babysit and we weren't sure how long we were going to be out so I wanted to make sure I had at least a days worth... I ended up with about 16-18 ounces. Well that morning we left around 4:15 and we arrived at walmart at 5. It was so crazy, we could barely move inside it was so crowded with buggies and people and pallets of goodies. I'm not sure it was worth saving 10 dollars over but we enjoyed the thrill. We were out of walmart at 5:25. It was the fastest trip! So after walmart we went to Target. Target didn't open until 6 so we had a little time to wait. We waited in the car and watched all the people line up outside the doors. There was a line from Targets front doors to Kohl's front doors. It looked like a Disney land line. We did not stand in line because it was cold and we didn't want to. So at 5:58 we made our way to the front doors and walked straight in. I feel bad about being a line cutter but not too bad. After Target we went to the mall and after the mall we decided we were pooped! We were back home at 9:00 a.m.!! I couldn't believe it. I just knew we would be out until 6 that night. Oh well, turns out I didn't need any of that milk that I pumped Lucy only ate about an ounce of it.
Saturday- we decorated for Christmas at our house and Lucy got to try out the baby carrier. (see picture below) and that evening we went over to Manna's for a little pizza party. We had a great time.
Sunday- This morning I woke up and saw that it was snowing! So far that is our only news!
Here are some pictures from our weekend!
Lucy and Emma, Lucy had on a thanksgiving dress but I decided PJ's would be more comfortable to spend the afternoon in. I have some pictures of her in her dress but I'll have to steal them from my sisters blog.
Lucy and Emma holding hands!
Jonathan and Lucy trying out the baby carrier!
Emma Grace on Sunday
Lucy in my favorite winter dress! I'm afraid she is about to out grow it though, the panty hose which are my favorite part are a little tight!
Lucy and G-Daddy, they were watching the BAMA game. Lucy loves her G-daddy. I think it is because he is so calm and patient. They walked around and talked to each other for hours the other night! This is our doberman with snow on it! This is our neighbors house but you can see how much now we got this morning!
Friday night Jonathan and I loaded up the dogs, Lucy, half a nursery and ourselves in my pathfinder and traveled down to Arkadelphia. We left Bentonville around 8:30 and arrived around 1:30. Lucy slept the entire time! I was so proud of her because she hates her car seat and she's not a big fan of the car either. Anyway she did great! Once we got to Papaw's and Grandcookies house we were ready for bed but Lucy was ready to party. She was a little hungry and a little tired but she was very curious about her new surroundings. She eventually went to bed around 2:30. She got up at 6:30 went back to bed and slept until 10:00. (I love it when she does that, especially on weekends because we get to sleep in too) Saturday afternoon we had lots of visitors, we got to see Aunt Delta (they were in town too), papaw Wayne and mamawvel. Lucy thought Wayne was pretty funny because he would make duck noises at her and she would smile so big!
So everyone has heard me say that Lucy is a fussy baby and she kind of only likes her mommy. Well this weekend Lucy was the best baby, she let everyone hold her. She took naps. She laughed. She never really got fussy unless it was time to go to bed and then she just wanted to be rocked. She was so good!!
So Saturday night we went over to the Hunting Cabin to have a Thanksgiving Feast that Dennis and Co had prepared. There was so much food and it was all so delicious! Thank you Uncle Dennis for preparing such a wonderful feast. We hope you cater all of our Family Get togethers!! We had so much fun and I wish I would have taken more pictures, there were about 20 people there but it only looks like the bost family was there from my pictures that we took. Oh well, we will take more next time!
We had such a good time in Arkadelphia and we are looking forward to going there for Christmas!! Here are some pictures from the weekend.
For the past month, during the middle of night feedings (which don't happen too often, only a couple times a week) I have been able to lay Lucy in her bed and she will put herself to sleep. Well today I thought I would try it for nap time. Lucy finished nursing and she was asleep, so I thought, when I laid her in her bed she woke up. So instead of picking her up I kissed her, told her I was leaving and Left the room. She cried for about 6 minutes , yes I watched the clock the entire time, and then she fell asleep. I couldn't believe it. I hope we can do this everyday!
A cute story I don't really want to forget... Jonathan and I brought Lucy to walmart with us the other night for a little grocery shopping. I refuse to take her by myself, so we went as a family. I carried Lucy the entire time and she did great! We told her if she was good she could pick out a toy. So at the end of the trip we went to the baby aisle and Jonathan held up a bumble bee toy and a duck rattle and said Lucy which one do you want. Lucy first lucked at the duck then the bee, then the duck then the bee and then pointed her little hand towards the duck! She is so smart!!
On a sadder note, my dog Clementine died today. She was 14 years old. I wish I could say she died of natural causes but I can't. Apparently there is a pack of dogs running around, they attack my mom's 3 month old colt the other day and we had to rush him to the vet. He should be fine but Clementine was not as lucky. It makes me so angry to think of these mean dogs! Tonight Jonathan, Ryan (my brother in-law) and Ryan's Brother Aaron are on a dog hunt.
We had a day of milestones in the Bost House today! Lucy has been trying really hard to roll over from her back to her stomach and today she did it. I didn't actually see it. I put her on Laura's bed, she was on her back, and when I came back she was on her stomach. Laura promised she did it on her own! For the past month or two Lucy has been looking hard for her thumb, well today she finally found it! She is so cute sucking on it!! Our third and final new thing of the day.... Jonathan gave Lucy a bath. Yes, it has been four months and he finally gave her a bath on his own. I was so proud of him. He usually just watches me when I give bear a bath but after today I decided they needed some bonding time so He DID IT!!! No pictures tonight I forgot to take them today.
Also, Laura and I had the best day ever today. We got to spend the whole day together. This morning Jonathan watched Lucy while I picked Laura up and we went over to Mom's to move some of my stuff out from underneath her carport. I ended up getting rid of most of it but it was worth getting it out of the way. Then in the afternoon Lucy and I went to Aunt Laura's where we spent most of the afternoon/night. Laura made the best spaghetti and meat balls. Did you know you can buy meat balls pre-made! I did not. Laura said you learn a lot about the frozen food section of wal-mart when you have a four year old.
Anyway, It has been a great day and I am so glad I got to spend it with my sister and her family. I miss our days together sissy!
Today has been a good day. Lucy started taking her Reflux medicine which has really helped with the spitting up and her fussiness. (Sorry Lucy it took us so long to figure out what was wrong) We didn't do anything very eventful today but that doesn't mean we didn't take some pictures!
Here is Lucy in her Bouncer. She is wearing one of the green onesies that Aunt Laura bought for her when we found out I was pregnant.(which was the day after Thanksgiving, I can't believe it's been almost a year).
Lucy and Autumn, Autumn is always kissing this poor baby. She just can't get enough of her. They are really sweet together, Lucy tries to suck on the dogs ears and they just let her. They have really surprised me.
