Play Time

Today was day three of the snow/ice storm. We spent all day inside. It has been a little boring at home because Lucy slept most of the day and Jonathan was working from home but we made the most of it. Tonight we had a little family play date in Lucy's bedroom! She is getting better at tummy time. She doesn't scream the entire time anymore.

I love this little face. (well i love the whole little person but look at that face!)
She has become the sweetest kid in the world!

We have tried to stay in the house all day because it is freezing outside. Jonathan did adventure out to go to Harps. We had a special surprise tonight.....we had a visitor tonight and Lucy was so excited to see him.
Uncle Matt Green came over tonight because he lost power this afternoon. I thought the boys were going to have a slumber party and play nintendo but Matt got his power back and decided to go home.  But while he was here Lucy really enjoyed him.... that's is until he touch her jumperoo and then she was ready for him to leave (J/k). She kept showing off in front of him by jumping really high in her jumper!!
Here she is talking to him.
Those are my Husbands feet incase you are wondering.

Jonathan's Trip to Harps

Yesterday I told you all the funny stuff that Jonathan buys when he goes shopping. Well here is the perfect example. Today he decided he wanted to make chili so he was going to go get some canned tomatos and onions from the store. This is what he came back with. Rice, Poptarts, Fritos, Cookies, Drano and Smore ingredients. This is why I don't usually send him to the store.

Lucy's Highchair.

I ordered Lucy's highchair last night. I was surprised to see that Walmart started carrying the Rittenhouse collection. Our carseat and stroller are from the Graco Rittenhouse set but had to get it from a specialty store here in town. (actually it was a gift but I might have helped picked it out, thanks mom and thanks Laura for the suggestion). ANyway, it should be here in a week or sooner. I'll post pictures of Lucy in it when we get it.

Snow Day

Let's see. Nothing eventful has happened lately. Jonathan did get to come home early today due to the weather. But before he came home he went to walmart. I always love it when he goes to walmart because he come home with some of the funniest things. Thank goodness he doesn't do the grocery shopping.  Tonight he came home with some pj pants, flashlights(which we needed), scented candles, bugles, fudge stripe cookies and throw blankets... he said they were all necessities incase we were stuck at the house for a day or two. He cracks me up! My favorite thing that he brought home was a box of hello kitty bandaids for Lucy. I guess it was funny because she was only 6 weeks old. :)

So, tonight we are just enjoying some tv. On monday's we like to watch that show Big Bang Theory (because it is about nerds), How I met your mother, Jon and Kate and those are our regulars. You know it has been a slow blogging day when you talk about the tv shows you have watched.

Speaking of tv... I saw a commercial today for the pinnacle hills church about a sermon on families, I think Jonathan and I might check it out. Yesterday Jonathan and I had great intentions of going to church but after Lucy had been up 3 times that night we decided not to.

Okay that's it.... I hate to post without a picture of Lucy but I didn't take any today. Maybe we will get some snow and I'll put her in her snow suit and post that for tomorrow!

Lucy is 6 Months!

I really need to order a highchair, Lucy is sitting in her Bumbo.

Lucy turned 6 months old yesterday. I can't believe how fast time has gone by. It seems like yesterday we were driving to the hospital to be induced. I've tried to cherish each day, somedays are easier than others but I try to remember how lucky I am to have a healthy baby that I can hold and enjoy.

Anyway, At 6 months Lucy you are.....
sitting by yourself
eating sweet peas, carrots and cereal
drinking from a straw
rolling over both ways
saying dada and baba
dancing when you hear music
laughing up a storm
crying at the drop of a hat
putting yourslef to sleep
teething
giving kisses (wet juicy kisses)
being so precious

side note* I have a correction on Lucy's stats her head circumference is 17 3/8" 90% not 16 1/4".

Lucy and I took advantage of the wonderful weather today and went for walk. We walked all around the neighborhood and then to the Centerton Pond where we sat and watch some ducks. Lucy seemed to enjoy it. I should have brought my camera- maybe tomorrow. After our walk it was time for Lucy to eat some cereal and carrots... yum. After she ate it was bath time and that is where the pictures come into play.

Lucy after her bath, For some reason she has more hair on one side of her head.
This is after I combed it, Isn't she sweet! If you are wondering about the white streaks on her face that is from the lotion.
I like to part her hair all to one side. If you knew Jonathan in Jr. High or have ever seen a picture of him during that time this is how he would wear his hair.
This face cracked me up.
Lucy with her daddy. She loves when he comes home! She yells for him to pick her up and then they talk and coo and laugh together.
Tomorrow is a big day. Lucy turns 6 months old!!

Resolution Update!

I have officially lost my first 5 pounds! Woo hoo! I hate to say I cheated a little this week but I've decided not to anymore. (well don't hold me to this) I watched this show the other day about this man who weighed 1023 pounds and he couldn't get out of his bed. It made me so sad and so sick to my stomach to see someone destroy themselves, actually to see someones family bring him 30,000 calories worth of food a day.. So after watching this show, no more fast food and no more junk.

Speaking of junk......
I dream of food. I dream of thanksgiving stuffing, pies, cakes, chocolate, french fries, cheese burgers, burrito supremes.... well you get the idea. When I get these cravings I drink some oh so  filling water and eat a fruit cup.

side note* I bet I would lose more weight if I would go outside and walk or even better run. I haven't ran since my sophomore year in HIGH SCHOOL. I guess I will stick to walking. I'm thinking about joining this women's running clinic this Feb., I'm not sure though. The only thing that is holding me back from walking now is the weather. I hate to be cold!!

So, now my goal is to lose the next set of FIVE POUNDS! WIsh me Luck!

We had a little family play time tonight in Lucy's room. I don't know if you noticed in the picture above but that is Lucy sitting up by herself. The boppy is just there in case she falls backwards. She is such a big girl. I can't believe how much she has grown and how much she can do now. She isn't that helpless baby I brought Home 6 months ago. (Thank God!)

Today has been a crazy day for the Bost Family. For the past 4 days we have not had hot water because our water heater has been broken. So every morning before work Jonathan gets up packs his bag and goes over to Matt Greens house for a shower. Lucy and I have been going over to my mom's house. Well our shower trips are over- they fixed it today. I'm so glad. I have missed my nightly baths. This is my nightly routine after Lucy goes to bed I take a bath and have a little quiet time. It is wonderful. I have really missed it too.

Maybe 30 seconds after the water heater guy left we let the dogs out of the bed room. Thirty seconds later Jonathan starts yelling to grab Autumn. Why? you ask, excellent question. She had chewed her toenail almost completely off and was running around the house getting blood everywhere. I was mad. Jonathan and I spent an hour cleaning up blood with the carpet cleaner and as soon as were done here she came again with it bleeding through the bandage. We were so upset but also felt bad for her because her foot was hurt.

Anyway, That has been our night. I'm ready to eat, take my bath, watch top chef and then go to bed!

Here are some playtime photos.
Family shot. Lucy cracks me up.
Lucy and Me.
Lucy and Daddy
Whitney and Lucy
Autumn the injured.
Lucy had her 6 month check up today. The doctor said she was perfect and was developing perfectly. My favorite part about going to the doctor is getting her new stats!
Height: 26 1/2 " 75%
Weight: 17 lbs 4 oz 75%
Head: 16 1/4" 90%

We also learned that she has two teeth coming in, Marilou said they could come through tomorrow or it could be next week. I guess we will wait.

I hope to post again tonight with some more pictures. Right now Lucy needs to eat!

Little Bear

Jonathan took this picture on his phone during the Christmas Break and we thought it was so funny. Grandcookie made the comment that "She'll be pulling through Sonic and ordering a Cherry Vanilla Doctor Pepper before you know it!!!." Which cracked me up!
Please continue to pray for Kelly and her baby Harper. They are in Tulsa and the prayers seem to be working, she is doing better everyday!

side note* I realized today that I am an internet blogspot stalker but the good news is Im not the creepy kind just the nosy kind. If I read a blog then I'll read that persons friends blog and at the end of the day I know everything about everyone. I know what you are thinking I need a job or atleast a hobby. Well your probably right but I love being at home with Lucy and I hope I can continue to and I'm looking into a hobby!

Questions...

I have a couple of questions.

First, I'm looking for a good photographer in Northwest Arkansas. Any recommendations? I haven't had professional pictures done since Lucy was 2 weeks old and since she is almost 6 months old and is about to out grow some really cute clothes I thought I would get some pictures done. So if anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear them!

Second, Jonathan and I are looking for a highchair. We have the bumbo chair which Lucy loves but I'm pretty sure she is going to out grown it (very soon at that). So if you have any suggestions on whether or not we should get the booster seat you set in a chair or a real highchair (i'm leaning towards this) but then if we get a wood hairchair should we get a wood one or a plastic chair?  I would love to hear what everyone thinks....

Prayer

Please everyone say a prayer for Kelly and her new baby Harper. Harper is being flown to childrens in Little Rock and things are not looking good. If anyone deserves to have a baby it is Kelly. She is such an inspiration to me because of her strong faith and her love for God.

Much to do about nothing.....

Today has been an interesting day....

This morning we woke up to no hot water and yes I paid the gas bill. So all day we have been batteling with the water heater. When we finally got the pilot light to stay on and were able to take our showers we got the pleasure of taking a luke warm shower. I hate luke warm showers. I like my shower so hot that when I get out I am lobster red from head to toe. Anyway, we will see if it will eventually heat up and I hope it does because I don't really want to replace it.

Next...

I have been doing real good with not eating sweets or chips or any of the bad things that I love. I think it is funny my sister, laura, commented on my last post saying, "remember in college if you wanted to lose weight you would just not eat for a couple of days". Isn't that the truth. That probably sounds really bad but it was the truth. I could go days with just eating a snack a day and water. Now I must eat. Not just because I am nursing but because I am trying to set a good example for my Lucy and well Jonathan has to eat and if I'm going to cook I'm going to eat. Also, I'm always hungry now.

Speaking of Hungry..... I found this recipe on the internet... it is a weight watchers minestrone soup... I've made it and it looks, smells and tastes awful! I think we may end up going out for dinner:).

Next topic...

I have a confession. I am obsessed with Kelly's Korner and today she is having her baby and I have probably checked it 20 times today seeing if she has had it. SO far, no baby. I'm still checking.

And what's a blog without Lucy. She loved having her Daddy at home today. When he was trying to work from home she was trying to help him.

Aren't they cute.
She loves to control the tv.
I love this outfit because of these little bears on the side.

My Resolution: Part 1

So my first resolution of the new year is to lose this baby weight. I have tried, well not really... I was always distracted by cookies. But it has been 5 1/2 months and I'm going to lose the weight. I've decided to do it 5 pounds at a time. I'm not going to tell you how many rounds of 5 until I'm done losing the weight.

So How am I going to do this......
No Carbs (which I love), No more Cookies, Lots of water, Lots of Vegetables, Lots of Chicken, No more bacon wrapped Chicken served with Rice (our favorite meal served twice a week), Lots of salads. Instead of eating chips for a snack I have been eating cottage cheese with a snack pack of fruit mixed with it. (it's better than it sounds)

So far, since Saturday I have lost 4 pounds... woo hoo!

*Side Note* Who said Breastfeeding makes you lose weight? Breastfeeding makes me so hungry!

Mmmm... can't wait to see what's on the menu for tomorrow. Maybe some Prunes in our Cereal! Yum Yum!!

A New Trick

During Christmas Break Lucy learned a new trick. She learned how to drink from a straw. She is so funny. She actually sucks water through it. I guess we will skip the bottle (which she hates) and go straight to the sippy cup with the straw. It makes me feel better about leaving her with a baby sitter... or her dad, knowing that she will be able to eat. Also, Lucy enjoyed some organic gerber sweet peas tonight. She didn't really like them but she would open her mouth to eat more, it was really too funny. I will have to get the pictures from Jonathan's IPhone.
Lucy drinking through the straw.
I stole these pictures from Aunt Delta, this is Lucy doing a happy dance.

A Couple of Firsts.....

Today we tried some rice cereal and Lucy loved it. She kept grabbing my arm and pulling the spoon towards her. She ate almost a whole bowl of the cereal (4 oz). After she was through she took the bib and started to wipe her mouth off, i'm serious we have it on tape. She is so funny!!

I don't know if you noticed but that is a bow in my baby's hair and no it isn't attached to a headband.
It is only for looks, it stayed in long enough for the picture!
