Open House

Lucy had open house yesterday at her new school! Lucy will be attending a 3 year old preschool on Tuesday and Thursdays starting next week! Her school is located at our church and they have a terrific preschool program! I'm so excited for Lucy and boy is she ready! I'm afraid I have bored her to near death!

Our Weekend and Week.

We had a fun filled weekend. It was relaxing with good food and good company. I'd give you more details but it's already the end of Tuesday and I can't remember what I ate for lunch.

Lucy with a half pony tail. I'm pretty sure I'm about to cut her hair to a cute bob because lil girl hates to have it brushed. I'm thinking simple. But aren't those curls beautiful.

We got to see the Coble's on Sunday and my dad. He was in town visiting. Lucy enjoyed having her family together.
Aunt Laura is still pregnant! This Friday she will be 37 weeks with Twins!

Today we went to the pool! Yes, it's our first time to go to our neighborhood pool all summer! We decided since school was in session we would go and it wouldn't be crowded! We were right it wasn't! Lucy had a blast! Next time though, mama is going to have to bring some toys!

We also went to wal-mart to do our 2 weeks worth of grocery shopping. I have been clipping coupons and checking out the ads from other stores. I do our shopping at walmart because I get a discount there and they price match. I saved $23.00 with coupons and my discount. I saved $10 from our actually grocery budget. I usually go over by 20 so I was proud. I was hoping I would get up to the front and only have to pay 25 dollars but that didn't happen. Oh well, I'll get better as I go!

I freaked out last night when I was going through bible studies. Maybe you noticed from my post. This morning I got up, ran (I ran for 25 minutes straight this morning. Thank you C25K!), cleared my head and got to work on researching some bible studies. I've narrowed it down to a couple of good ones to ease our way into things. This spring I hope to do Crazy Love by Francis Chan. I wanted to do it this fall but I think it might be too much to start out with! I'll let you know what we decide on!

It's almost 4. Lucy is napping.

Bible Study.

I'm excited about bible study this year. It starts up in three weeks. I've missed it all summer! Our bible study has come under new leadership and I'm a little worried about this. The girl is young. There is nothing wrong with that. I hope the older ladies respond to her. I'm not sure how well she knows her bible either. Is she going to ruin Thursday Bible Study? I heard she didn't even have a lesson picked out! What was she thinking!? Man, what a moron! I already want to punch her in the face!

If you have a favorite bible study that you have done in the past please let me know. I know our new leader could use some help!

You can comment here or email me at:

Yes, I'm the moron who took it over! I need some prayers. I have a couple of studies picked out but I'm afraid they may be too intense, as in convicting, as in no one will show up again.

Thank you.

Monday and Tuesday.

Lucy started dance class on Monday. I am excited about this because she needs to get some of her energy out in a productive manner, two-girl has rhythm and three I love the outfits!
Lucy was very excited about dance. She did great during the ballet portion of class. She was unsure of tap dance. She kept telling me it was too loud! Which if you have ever met her you would think this was hilarious because she is the loudest kid ever!
Today we picked Aunt Laura up to get her out of the house. We went by some of our favorite stores and then had lunch at Petite Bistro. It was good but if you want an honest review don't go. They are snotty and it took forever for a petite meal!

That's it!

We have had a wonderful day at home. We did yard work and played outside in the pool and with water balloons! We missed church this morning due to a certain little girl who was up and down until about 3 this morning! Crazy kid...

I think this kid is so cute!
No make up Mary and Lucy. Just keeping it real...

Our Weekend.

We've had a good weekend. Mostly we have just enjoyed playing with our little Lucy Bear. We did some productive things around the house too. Weekends for us are about catching up around the house and yard, playing with Lucy and spending as much time as possible together.

Lucy and I spent some time with Laura trying to persuade the babies to come out. It didn't help.
We brought a load of furniture to the lake house. Some of the furniture was from my MIL's house. It looks great in it's new location. I'm excited about next year lake season. We usually spend every weekend at the lake but this year we haven't been out there once! The lake was too high in June, July we were busy every weekend and now in August we are waiting for babies! I am planning a slower paced summer next year.

After we delivered furniture we had dinner at the Coble's house. We brought Papa Murphy's over and fresh peaches from a fruit stand.

The girls enjoyed counting the peaches.

We went on a walk up and down the drive way to get the babies out. No luck!
I also cleaned my closet.
I was cleaning out my garage and found some shower hooks and thought this would be perfect to hang my necklaces on.
I hung all of my long costume jewelry in the closet on the hooks. All of my good stuff is in a separate place so Lucy can't get to it.
That's it.

The Day I Lost Lucy.

Last Tuesday I lost Lucy.

This is Lucy running.
On to my story.

Tuesday I was over at the farm on Laura duty. Laura is pregnant with Twins, she has gone into labor twice. We like to have someone with her at all times. And she is my best friend so I don't mind.

Back to the story again.

Lucy, Laura and I were on Laura's bed watching a movie. Lucy went up front. After about three minutes it got really quiet. I went to look for Lucy. I couldn't find her. I called for her. I ran from one end of the house to the other calling her name. I ran upstairs. I checked behind every curtain (because she likes to hide). I checked out in the gated area in the front. She wasn't there. I ran around the house to the back door by the cats. She wasn't there. I ran back in the house. Up the stairs. Still wasn't there. I ran back up front and back through the front door and around the house. By this point Laura realized I couldn't find her and she was up looking. I ran out to the horse pasture behind the shed because Lucy loves the horses. She wasn't there. I ran back to the house. Laura yells, "GO CHECK THE POND". Oh Lord, all I could picture was my sweet baby floating in the pond. I sprinted up to the pond, which is a very steep hill. Praise the Lord she wasn't in it! But I still couldn't find her.

I'm frantic at this point.
I checked the house.
I checked the yard.
I checked the horse pasture.
I checked the pond.
I checked behind the house.

I'm getting to the point where I am on the verge of hysterical out of breathe crying. (because I'm out of shape and have been running nonstop up hills and through pastures.) I'm barefoot too.

I go back to the house to get my phone. I need a search team and a helicopter, probably the FBI too. When I get to the front door Laura is pulling Lucy to me by the hand. I didn't know if I should hug her or beat her! If I weren't out of breath and crying I would have beat her.

Laura said, "I was on the phone with 911 when I walked past Emily's room and a quilt started to move." What? "She said, so I called Lucy's name with no answer from her. I lifted it and there she was." I told 911 never mind I found her!

Lucy was embarrassed. We had a talk about not hiding from Mama. And answering Mama when she calls you. So far she is agreeing to answer me when hiding but hasn't stopped hiding.

We went to Belk the other day and she would hide from me in the clothes and when I would say Lucy where are you she would jump out and yell, "Surprise" or "Happy Birthday"!

Does anyone else have a problem with their kids hiding from them? How did you break them?
I'm to the point where time outs don't usually work and I'm threatening her with spanking.
What do you do when your kid is fearless?

The End.

It stormed all night last night. Jonathan got up at 4 and found little miss Lucy like this on our floor. I guess the storm scared her! Instead of making her sleep on the floor he made her a palate on the floor. I found the dog sleeping with her this morning.

Today Lucy and I ran errands. It's hard running errands with a very active three year old. We went to tj maxx because I am in the market for a bathing suit. They didn't have a one piece in my size. So then we went to sams club. I love buying in bulk. I didn't do much shopping there. We just needed some juice and fruit. Next I ran by my favorite Walmart associate store where I found half or less packages of diapers. I quickly called my sister to tell her. I stocked my cart full of newborn diapers for Laura the limit was three but at 10 a box we had to stock up. I stocked up on night time pull ups. After our bargain shopping we went to lunch at Olive Garden with Manna and Emily.

Me and my sister.
Emily, Lucy and Manna. They are shy that is why they aren't looking.
You know the show extreme couponers where they show you their stock pile.

Well here is mine. I have at least a 6-12month supply of diapers (because we only where them at night), body soap, toothpasth, mouth wash, kids shampoo, kids soap, kids bubble bath, female products, lotion, deoderant and light bulbs. There picture doesn't show it all but you get the point I have a small stock pile. And I only paid $5 on it. No, just kidding but everything probably cost a $1.00 per bottle.
Here is my pantry overflow. That's a lot of rice and beans, which we eat a lot of during the winter time. And my stash of community coffee, breakfast blend. I stock up when I go to baton rouge.
I also have a stock pile of birthday gifts but it is running low!
That's it. I hope you don't think I'm a hoarder. I just like to save money.

The End.

Jonathan went to walmart to get a few things that we needed. I love when he goes to the store because I never know what he will come home with. One time when Lucy was 6 months old he went to the store and came back with hello kitty bandaids. Today he came back with hot pink legos.
I love these two.

Big Girl Story.

Tonight I told Lucy that it was time for her to go to bed and all big girls have to go to bed. And she replied in song, "BIG GIRLS DON'T CRY".

I didn't teach her this.
Where did she learn this? Family? Friends? Strangers?

On another note, we have a nice relaxing weekend planned. We are doing nothing but hanging out at the house and enjoying each other. We haven't had a relaxing weekend since June!

Emma Date.

Today I had a lunch date with the sisters at Panera. I love Panera and haven't been there in forever! After lunch we did a little crib shopping for Laura. We didn't find anything.

After our failed shopping adventure, Lucy and I picked Emma up from school for a play date. I love getting these two kids together. Emma Grace wanted to swim so that is what we did.

After we swam we had breakfast for dinner.

Today is my sister Laura's birthday! I got the pleasure of babysitting her for the day. Since she is on bedrest and since she is getting closer to her due date we try to have someone with her all the time.

Laura had an appointment in town that I took her to and then we had a birthday lunch at pf chang. It was super yummy and my Lucy was very well behaved.

Side Story-I asked Lucy where she wanted to eat and ofcourse she said Chickfila. I told her chickfila was closed. Because I'm real into lying to my kid. Anyway, we drove past chickfila and Lucy got so excited and started yelling Mama, Chickfila is OPEN. It's not closed. I got real excited too and said Oh I thought it was Sunday! (I hate to get caught in a lie)

After Lunch we went to Target. Laura had to ride a cart and Lucy got to hitch a ride.
After our adventure we went back to the farm. Lucy and I did a little bike riding outside. Lucy rode Emma's bike and I rode Taylor's Razor. Have you ever been on a Razor? It's so much fun I didn't want to get off. I was a little disappointed when Taylor came home because I had to share it with him.
Tonight we ordered in Sushi and had Rick's cake. It was a wonderful birthday celebration.

Doesn't my sister look skinny. She is 34 weeks pregnant with Twins! Her face and arms are still skinny!

Lucy loved the cake. She loved it so much she didn't want to waste any time with a fork.

The little girls looking out the window at the deer.
