36 weeks!

Baby #2-36 weeks

How far along:  36 weeks. (picture 36 weeks, 2 days)

Size of baby:  Our baby is the size of a coconut. It measures between 17.2-18.7 inches and weighs between 4.2 to 5.8 pounds.

Weight Gain: 23 pounds.

Maternity Clothes: Yes. Pretty much all I wear except for a few dresses and cardigans. I'm getting tired of maternity clothes. I'm sure everyone around me is tired of seeing me in the same thing!

Gender:  We will find out in less than 3 weeks!

Movement: Yes. The baby is still pretty active. I think it is going to be the longest baby ever I feel it all over the place!

Food Cravings/Aversions: Nothing this week.

What I miss:  Sleeping on my stomach. Bending over.

Sleep:  When I sleep I sleep great! I'm really just uncomfortable!

Symptoms: I am still have sharp pain through my lady parts and it even shoots down through my leg. The doctor said it was just round ligament pain. Some pelvic pressure.

Best Moment of the Week: Lucy and I got our hair cut on Thursday. My in-laws and my mom were both in town this weekend. I had a blast hanging out with Becky and my mom! We had a crawfish boil on Saturday to celebrate Ryan and Jonathan's birthdays and Sunday my wonderful friends threw me and baby Bost a shower!

What I look forward to:  My doctor's appointment tomorrow.

How is that baby going to get out?

Scene: Lucy answer i were laying in bed and she was rubbing my belly and talking to the baby.

Lucy: mama?

Lucy:how is the baby going to get out of your belly?

Me: ahhhh! I quietly thought of an answer.

Lucy:is it going to come out your vagina?

Me: how does she know that? Well, most babies do come out the vagina but mamas babies come out of here. I showed her my section scar.

Lucy: is the Dr. Going to cut you with scissors?

Me: well. He has a special Dr.s knife.

Lucy: is he going to hurt you?

Me: Mama is tough. Mama is brave. There will be lots of medicine. Mama won't even feel it!

Lucy: mama?

Me: yes, baby?

Lucy: i want the baby to pop out of your belly button.

Me: ok.

I have a very curious little girl. I try to Always tell her the truth while being age appropriate as possible with my answers.

First Dentist Visit

Lucy had her first Dentist appointment yesterday!  I've actually been avoiding it like the plague. I've played every senerio through my head and all were terrible! Well little girl watched mommy get her teeth cleaned and then she was ready. The Dr. Even came in and had a look and Lucy followed directions and did so well! We are cavity free and she doesn't have to go back for a year!

36 week check up

For my records:
Bp- 120/70
Weight- 21 pounds
Baby heart rate- 140
Position- head down
He checked me today and said that was the last time he was going to check me. I feel like Christmas has been taking away from me. For some reason that is my favorite part! Its so encouraging to see that progress is being made! Oh well, only 3 weeks and a few days!
During my exam we learned the baby is still high and my cervix is closed.
The end.

35 weeks.

Baby #2-35 weeks.

How far along:  35 weeks. 1 day. 4 weeks to go!

Size of baby:  Our baby is the size of a honey dew. It measures 18" long and weighs 5.25 ounces- so says

Weight Gain: 21.5 pounds. My goal was to only gain 20 pounds but since I passed it my new goal is to not gain more than 25 pounds! But I am also to the point where I don't care. Also a little fun fact for you-if I gained 5 pounds for the next 4 weeks I would still weigh 15 less than with Lucy! Let's hope I don't...

Maternity Clothes: Yes. Pretty much all I wear except for a few dresses and cardigans.

Gender:  We will find out in 4 weeks! (or 27 days)

Movement: Yes. I think the baby has happy feet. I feel them constantly moving!

Food Cravings/Aversions: Apples.

What I miss:  Sleeping on my stomach. Bending over.

Sleep:  I spend half of my night in the bathroom and the other half in bed.

Symptoms: Groin Cramps. Pelvic pressure. Sharp shooting pains through the exit.

Best Moment of the Week:  Getting most of our home projects done.

What I look forward to:  My doctor's appointment on Tuesday and my haircut on Thursday.

The End.

Best friend

Lucy and Emma have been best friends since the womb. They are two days apart. They have grown up more like sisters than cousins!

We are very excited for the Coble family, who just announced they are moving to Atlanta but  Im Also sad that our best friends are moving!

We are having a spend the night party tonight to celebrate before 1. The baby comes. 2. They move.

The end.

Mommy Brain

Mommy Brain is a real thing. I use to think it was an excuse for women to act stupid but it's not...

Last night I made dinner, Chicken and Rice. I put the chicken and rice in the oven. I turned on the timer. Lucy and I went outside and played for an hour. My timing was perfect. We walked in with one minute to spare before the timer went off. Jonathan was almost home.

The Timer went off.

I opened the oven. I opened the oven to find that my chicken and rice was not completely cooked. At further inspection it wasn't cooked at all. I thought surely an hour is enough time to cook chicken and rice....

I looked up at the oven ad realized I never turned the oven on!

I called Jonathan crying. Why cry over raw chicken? Combination of Hormones and the realization that I have lost my mind.

Dear Lord, Please help us get through the next 4 weeks without me burning down the house! Amen.

The End.

Building confidence

Lucy is a very confident girl. I think she was just born that way! I try everyday to build her self esteem and to let her know how special she is. I try to phrase my praise with God as the giver. Instead of telling her she is beautiful, which she is, I tell her God made her beautiful. Instead of saying you are so smart, i say God has made you so smart! I can't wait to see what he does through your life! I think it is important to 1. Recognize that God is the ultimate creater of all things (as much as i would like to take credit for giving her her good looks, or brilliant smarts) 2. To make her realize that she needs God in her life.

Mama's can do a lot for their children but God can do so much more.

I want her to find the Lord at an early age and I feel if I tell her just how great HE  has already been to her she will want to know him sooner!

Yesterday we were driving down the road and she sang the Wheels on the Bus all the way home. When we got half way home I said, "Lucy, I am so proud of you. God has made you so smart." She replied with a teenager's smirk and said, "Yeah, Thanks Mom." See... it's already working. She already knows that God has made her so special.

Male Parts

This is a Lucy Story. Maybe the funniest Lucy story that ever lived!

Scene: I was changing Preston's diaper.
Lucy: Mom, What is that?
Me: Well, that is a penis.
Lucy: I do not have a penis. I have a vagina.
Me: this is correct. Boys have a penis and Girls have a vagina.
Lucy: Does my dad have a Penis?
Me: Yes
Lucy: Does my Uncle Ryan have a Penis?
Me: Yes
Lucy: Does my friend Grant have a Penis?
Me: Yes
Lucy: And I have a vagina?
Me: Yes
Lucy: (after thinking about this for a few minutes) Mom?
Me: Yes baby.
Lucy: Does God have a Penis?

I told her yes but I really don't know.

The End.

I love to lounge in my pajamas. If I am done with my day after errands or our daily tasks I'll tell Lucy that we should put on our pajamas. I just think you should be comfortable. So Pajamas. I am looking for some comfortable nursing pajamas. I have a couple of nursing pajamas with a matching robe for the hospital. I love my set but I'm looking for more. If you have a certain brand that you love I would love to hear your input. You can email me at or leave a comment.

Thanks in advance!

I've decided that if Jonathan and I didn't have kids we would be the most boring people in the world or we would travel a lot! Since Lucy has been gone we have sat around and stared at each other and we ate a lot of sandwiches. I haven't cooked in a week! I have gotten a few things done around the house, I've gone on some walks, I ran some errands and I've napped. I'm ready for Lucy to come home!

Lucy has had a blast! She has been to the lake. She has been fishing. She has been outside riding on the petal cars. She has even napped! She comes home tomorrow! Thanks Cookie and Bapaw for taking such good care of our little girl.

Day 2 of kid break

<p>Lucy is having a blast with her grandparents. I talked to her today and she said she didn't want to come home! I have been filling my time with random tasks. I painted >baseboards. I took a shower by myself. I ate my entire lunch without sharing. I ran some erands and I took a nap. Im a little on the bored side but I've enjoyed the break and rest.

Easter Sunday

 Good Golly, I'm huge!

We celebrated Easter by going to church and then having brunch at the farm house. The kids had a blast hunting for Easter eggs. I had fun eating a coconut cake.

We missed having Lucy at home for Easter but I know she had fun at papaw and cookie's house. Lucy is staying at Jonathan's parents house this week so we can get some things done and rest. So far we have taken a nap and watched dvr'd shows! I'm hoping to remulch, paint baseboards, and get the nursery finished while she is gone.

The End.
