Living the Good Life.

My Grandmother passed away last Wednesday. As much as I loved her and as much as I tried, I just couldn't be sad about her death. She was 86 years old and she loved Jesus. She was committed to God and being obedient to Him. I remember spending a week with my grandparents in the summer. At the end of the week my parents would ask, "What did you do this week?" I always said the same thing, "We went to church.." Before we would attend service she would always prepare me. The night before she would read the bible and I would snuggle up to her in bed. I remember thinking, "She really takes this stuff serious."  At that age- at that time in my life- I had no idea what it meant to devote yourself to God and to have a relationship with His Son. But she did. It was her world.

A month before her death the family found this sealed letter addressed to them "To be read after I am gone."

What a Day That Will Be

There is coming a day,
When no heart aches shall come,
No more clouds in the sky,
No more tears to dim the eye,
All is peace forever more,
On that happy golden shore,
What a day, glorious day that will be.

What a day that will be,
When my Jesus I shall see,
And I look upon His face,
The One who saved me by His grace;
When He takes me by the hand,
And leads me through the Promised Land,
What a day, glorious day that will be.

There’ll be no sorrow there,
No more burdens to bear,
No more sickness, no pain,
No more parting over there;
And forever I will be,
With the One who died for me,
What a day, glorious day that will be.

What a day that will be,
When my Jesus I shall see,
And I look upon His face,
The One who saved me by His grace;
When He takes me by the hand,
And leads me through the Promised Land,
What a day, glorious day that will be.

Last night I snuggled to Lucy and she said, "Mom, I am really jealous of Grandmother Bullington. She gets to live in heaven with Jesus and I really want to go too." Me too, Sister. Me too.

As much as I long for Heaven I know that we have a job to do here.

And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations,
 and then the end will come.
-Matthew 24:14

God is bigger than this and Jesus Can fix-it.
