Weekend Review: Spring Break

I'm really sad that spring break is over! What I enjoyed most about our break- 1. sleeping in 2. all the time with my kids. I'm not sure who planned spring break around the time change but that person should not be in charge anymore.... We all had a hard time getting up this morning and getting off to school.

Last week we spent a lot of time with our cousins! I'm so thankful they are just a 30 minute drive away.  Papaw and Cookie also visited for the weekend and we put them to work on the house! Productive and Fun!!

Laura and I took the kids to eat sushi before heading to the great wolf lodge last week.

The Great Wolf Lodge is the most exhausting place I've ever been. It is fun but get ready to be tired! Groupon had a great package a couple of weeks ago. We got a room with a loft that slept 8 people and free breakfast for half of the cost for a regular room! I'll be on the look out for another discount for this summer!

After an afternoon of playing at the water-park we took it upstairs for dinner!  Towards the end of the meal and before dessert, Henry and I had to take our party to the room. Hen-hen was out of good decisions for the day and needed to go to bed. As I was calming him down and putting him to sleep he said, "Mom, sing that song about Henry and Mama." I told him I didn't know that song. SO he sang it... " Mommy and Henry are best friends. (he grabs my face) Look at my mommy, she is so cute. Look at her face! I love my mommy and she loves me!".... This is why that kid never gets in trouble... he's a charmer...

Early the next morning we were ready to go again!

G-daddy spent the night and then headed off to work but before he left we celebrated his birthday!

Jonathan took the day off and met us at the waterpark for the day. It was nice to have help and to spend the day with my kids and love! I'm sure he was excited to go back to work to get some rest.

Speaking of work, Jonathan's company has given him the option to work from home on Fridays. This works great with his chemo schedule since Friday is the worst day of chemo week. So this past Friday I had to get the kids out of the house so Daddy could work. Daddy is like a celebrity in the house and the kids can't seem to leave him alone... The kids and I picked up Manna and headed for an early showing of Zootopia! I thought this was cute movie and the kids really enjoyed it too!

By the time we got out of the movies and had lunch Papaw and Cookie were waiting for us at our house!! We were so excited to see them! I'm not sure they were as excited to see us especially when I told them our weekend to-do list... We hung curtain rods, went shopping for pillows, made outdoor lanterns and outdoor lights.

Here is one before and after of our bedroom curtains... I'm trying to make our bedroom our calming oasis...
(I'm still waiting on my ruched duvet to match the pillows).

It's been a fun break but today we are back to reality. Lucy is at school. Jonathan is at work. Henry and I are headed to the gym and grocery store. Also, tonight starts Round 8 of chemo. My goals for this week- 1. Pray your way out of a pity-party. 2. Don't lose your mind to chemo week. 3. Make the best of the situation...

God is bigger than this and Jesus can fix-it!!
