Weekly Happenings: FFS Gala

My mom is in charge of the auction portion of the Frisco Family Services One Gala that is coming up this Saturday night. She has been super busy these past few months securing donations. This week and last, I have helped put together the baskets for the auction with her. She even recruited my friends the past few weeks with the promise of a seat at our table! She really made them work for their dinner! Thank you friends for your help! Tuesday, we finished putting the final touches on the baskets and wrapping them with cellophane wrap.

Now all the tickets have been sold to the Gala, praise the Lord! But if you want to still bid on the auction you can do so online from the comfort of your own home! Click Here! More baskets are being added, this is a preview but by Friday night all baskets should be added.

So what does Frisco Family Services support?
Every day, Frisco Family Services remains committed to helping our neighbors in need - those facing hunger, homelessness or another life crisis.

The affluence in Frisco is not universal as many believe. While much attention is placed on the exciting boom, Frisco has also witnessed a growing population of families who are experiencing a financial crisis. Loss of employment, medical issues, death and divorce are all contributing factors to the rise of families and individuals needing assistance. Frisco Family Services provides services to individuals and families who live in Frisco or Frisco ISD. In the 2013-2014 fiscal year, FFS assisted more than 3,900 individuals, provided more than $345,000 in emergency financial assistance, distributed 572,453 pounds of food, issued $27,720 in vouchers for clothing and household goods at Frisco Resale, offered adult life skills classes to 508 individuals, helped 262 children with back to school clothing, shoes and supplies, gave 240 families Thanksgiving Meal Boxes, provided 850 children, parents and seniors with holiday gifts, and distributed 8,574 meals to children at the Summer Lunch Program. These are all very impressive accomplishments which could not be achieved without the support of our donors and volunteers.  - See more at: http://friscofamilyservices.org/what_we_do/#sthash.MdO26oKF.dpuf

I am a big fan of FFS and Frisco Resale and all they do for the community. I hope if you are local that you will support this cause and be on the lookout for next year's gala!

God is bigger than this and Jesus Can fix-it.
