I've been busy the past few weeks. This time of year is busy in general but I've unintentionally booked my calendar. Jonathan and I had a discussion about this the other night because I was so tired. Saturday, I pulled out my calendar and I scheduled free time for myself. Big bold letters of DO NOT MAKE PLANS fill in many of the squares of my planner.
God sure is funny, when he wants you to hear something He makes it obvious. Saturday, I filled in free time and decided to be more intentional with my time. Saturday I also read a passage in Fervent about how Satan overloads us with things that seem urgent, he bogs down our calendars so Jesus is pushed to the side and so that we feel guilt when we say NO...
So I put some rules in place...
-Does this Glorify God?
-Does this strengthen my family unit? (as a whole, not just an individual)
These are applicable to all aspects of my life: time, money, energy, relationships
Sunday, we started a new series in our Adult Fellowship group called Simple Living and we discussed the exact things I listed above! Like I said, God makes it obvious when he wants us to hear something and make changes.
On another note- I may have to give up watermelon. Apparently, I slurp it when I eat it... As I was enjoying the juices of my fruit this morning, I turned and looked at my precious husband and in his eyes I could tell he wanted to kill me. Watermelon does not Strengthen my Family Unit.
God is bigger than this and Jesus Can fix-it.
