Alright, we have a lot to cover!

1. Walmart Mini Melissa lookalikes

I bought Lucy the strapless pair and she loves them. They do run big, I have to return the original and size down. But for under $5 they are worth the hassle!

2. LancĂ´me's La vie est Belle

I love the smell of this perfume. I got a sample once at the store and fell in love with it and then last week I rubbed a magazine raw trying to get all the sample from the ad. I decided this would be my next scent but for $100 I decided I'd just smell like dove instead... Imagine my surprise when I found a brand new bottle of this new perfume at my favorite Resale shop! So I bought it, I bought used perfume because I'm not proud! But I am proud of the $$ I saved!

3. Shein Online

I have a friend who always looks likes a million dollars! I love her style and I asked her recently where she got a couple of trendy shirt and she said from this new site she had found! So I got on it and I found a few little joys! Most of the things I love are under $12...

Tassel Dress- $11

Off Shoulder

Blue Off Shoulder

Favorite Embroidery

4. Giving Keys

I have a giving key bracelet that I was gifted from a friend and I wear it everyday. Mine says hope, it's a good reminder when I put on my armor for the day to put clothed myself in Jesus and His hope.

Right now Giving keys is selling a 2 for 1 necklace set. Keep one and give the other! Buy one, get one for free. It's a great time to buy if it's on your list...

5. Mac n Cheese Crunch

I bought these at Costco and they are delicious. I told my kids they were new Cheetos and they love them and they have no idea that they are made out of beans... I know, genius!

Those are my favorites for the day. See you Monday! I hope you have a great weekend!

Weekly Happenings

What have we been up to this week?

1. This week was supposed to be Round #22 of chemo. I'm so thankful that 1. Jonathan is done with Chemo. 2. That we had a normal week.

2. This week also marked the 2 year point from the start of all this Cancer Mess... This week has been pretty normal, everyone once in a while the PTSD will creep in and paralyze me, it comes in waves but WE KEEP KEEPIN' ON. Jesus, Prayer, Laughing and Coffee...

Last Friday we went to WORSHIP night in AMERICA. It was amazing to see Chris Tomlin, Phil Wickham, Mosaic, Zach Williams and Big Daddy Weave praise Jesus in song! We sang our hearts out to JC, it made me crave Heaven even more!

Saturday, we celebrated Ryan's 40th Birthday! My sister is quite the party planner. Full Recap Here.

Monday the kids were out of school so we took the opportunity to go see Beauty and the Beast. We loved it! Henry walked out and said the beast was his favorite and it made him want to fight people. Lucy said her favorite was the music! Something for everyone!

Monday we also had an ENT appointment. Lucy's been having ear pain and we thought her ear tube was on it's way out. Our ENT worked us in and examined her ear. And he let Henry check out her ears too!

Tuesday was Henry and Mama Day and we had to shop at Costco... But we did eat Pizza and icecream.

Tuesday night Lucy had soccer practice and Henry fell asleep on our 3 minute drive from the house to the field. We just sat in the car for an hour and a half to let him sleep. He woke up and said, "Wow, I feel good, I just needed a little nap!"

Wednesday, we had my favorite Bible Study event of the year- THE FEAST! All the ladies bring a dish and we eat and eat and eat! It's a great way to end the year.

This is my Romans Bible Study group. I love these ladies + a few that aren't pictured! Each year's group is my favorite but I just adore all the ladies in this group and their hearts for JESUS! There's some god-loving mommies in this picture!

Also, if you are looking for godly mommy friends I'd suggest joining a bible study. My best friends have all come out of bible study! (This goes all the way back to my 1st bible study when God brought Marci into my life! (If you don't know who Marci is then you don't know me at all...))

Lucy took this picture this AM before school... Good Morning!

That's our week!

Crawfish 40th Birthday Party!

This weekend we celebrated my brother-in-law's 40th birthday! My sister went all out and threw him a huge crawfish boil birthday party! He loves his birthday and she loves him!

A lot of his family from Arkansas came into town and they made a special stop by rick's bakery in Fayetteville to bring THE CAKE! Isn't that the cutest!

We heard a band a year ago when we went to Deep Ellum last year and Ryan fell in love with it and Laura found them and hired them to entertain us!

The kids loved playing with the crawfish!

 We danced jr. high style...

If you ever wondered how I met Jonathan it's because him and Ryan were BFF. Ryan likes to tell my mom that the only reason she has grandkids is because of him!

Ryan and his brothers.

Laura and her Georgia BFF.

My dad went to town cooking all that crawfish!

And last but not least, my love and I.

Well done Laura and Happy Birthday, Ryan!

2 years later...

Two years ago I woke to the horrific sight of blood, seizing, and screaming. The screaming was coming from me.... I frantically called 911 and I instantly started praying.

I remember hearing, Mary, YOU HAVE TO PUT IT TO I prayed.

After the EMT's loaded Jonathan in the ambulance, I was greeted by a scared little girl who was reacting how I felt- scared, crying, unsure. "Mom, What do we do? What's happening? Where'd he go? Is he okay?" Again I heard- Mary, YOU HAVE TO PUT IT TO USE - "Lucy, What do we do when we are scared?" She dropped to her knees and started to pray.

It is easy for me to talk about a God who loves me, Jesus who died for me, Hallelujah, and Angels sing in a place that HE has prepared for me. But until I had to put my faith into ACTION I didn't get the full extent of HIS LOVE. Prayer, Jesus, God, Hymns, songs, scripture, heaven and godly friends have been my lifeline the past two years.

I hit my knees every morning. Some days are easier than others. Some days (more often lately) Jesus has to drag me out of bed and carry me through the day.

To sum up the past two years-
I'm the weakest person I know- Jesus is strong.
He gives me just enough strength for that day.
My faith is strong because it's all I have.
My hope in Jesus brings me so much joy.
I do it because I have no other choice.

Looking back through the past two years I can see God in every detail. Carrying, holding, moving mountains, and being the light that guides me through the darkness.

He has met me in the darkest of places. (Jesus met me in the dark one night and held a flashlight under his chin, like he was telling a scary story, and said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." (john 8:12). He added in some ghost noises to make me laugh... He's so funny...)

God is bigger than this and Jesus can fix it.

Our Brain Cancer Story... (with links to past posts)

April 24, I woke to Jonathan having a Grande mal seizure. He was rushed to the hospital where we found out there was a mass on his brain.

April 25, Jonathan had a left temporal craniotomy and excisional biopsy of the mass.
We spent 5 nights in hospital and then moved his recovery to the house.

May 5, we received the pathology report and discovered Jonathan had brain cancer.

Friday Favorites!

1. Teacher Gifts

I got this tip from a friend and I'm going to pass it on to you. Mud-pie is having a clearance sale and the prices are so good to stock up on teacher gifts (and swim cover ups). I ordered end of the year gifts and some Christmas gifts for family.

There's a lot of great deals. The cover ups range from $3-8.

2. My favorite lunch

I'm cleaning up my diet, which involves eating a lot of veggies, fruits and no carbs. My go-to salad is a spinach, berry, walnut salad with a balsamic glaze. I also wrapped a hamburger in lettuce and added mustard and called it lunch! I've been sticking this is Lucy's lunch box as well and she loves it, but she loves salad so this doesn't surprise me!

3. Girls Dinner

Last night we had our adult fellowship girls dinner and it was fun and delicious! There were 8 of us and it was a great number for full table conversation.
My dress and shoes are a thredup find. Y'all know I love thredup. I can't help myself, it's inexpensive with their daily coupons and great prices! Other thredup finds from the week... My white Lilly dress and Sandals.

I wrote 37 things I love about my husband on his 37th birthday!

5. Mama and Lucy date.

Lucy had back to back appointments yesterday and afterwards instead of rushing to pick up Henry we decided to stop and get Bahama bucks! And it was delicious. I mostly enjoyed spending time with lu and hearing all about 2nd grade. She enjoyed eating her sno cone and mine...

We have a busy weekend full of fun events and people!
