Weekend Review+ Weekly Planning

||Weekend Review||
And I'm proud to be an American where at least I know I'm free.
And I won't forget the men who died, who gave that right to me.
And I'd gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today.
'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land God bless the U.S.A.

I really am proud to be an American! And I'm thankful for the men and women who serve and protect our country.

Besides appreciating our veterans, current military, and those who have died for our country we enjoyed family time doing nothing. Besides doing nothing, we spent some time in the pool!

And our buddy, Preston, spent the night with us.

Lucy let me brush out her hair and try to French braid... I couldn't until I watched a youtube video and this morning she let me braid her hair. My skill can only improve from here!

Besides going to church, that pretty much sums up our weekend!

Send Encouraging notes

||To Study||

I'm studying the character of God because He is the ultimate example on how we should act and live.

God is spirit- God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth. _john 4:24
(This was a wonderful reminder that we have access to God through the Holy spirit and that we should use the spirit in prayer, discernment and everyday living. I heard on the radio the other day that if God took away the holy spirit it would take most people 3 months to realize that it was gone. I don't want to do that...)

I'm still reading the Best Yes and loving it.

That's our week, I hope you have a fabulous week!

Friday Favorites- pompoms and things

Happy Friday! These are a few of my favorite things!

1. Pom-Poms

Finally fashion has caught up with my style! :) I'm loving all the embroidery, pompoms, tassles and fiestaware! I'm hoping this style stays a while!

2. Matilda Jane Sale

Matilda Jane is having a sale until Monday! I've ordered Lu a couple of things for next fall! She won't wear the ruffles but she still likes the tween line! If you need a trunk keeper you can use mine- #709.

3. The Man in the High Castle

Jonathan and I have enjoyed this show. It has a lot of history, Nazi's, Japanese, resistance, and a little kissing thrown in... something for everyone! Basically, imagine that Germany and Japan had WWII and taken over the US. There is only 2 seasons and a third on the way... I prefer to watch a show that is finished filming so we can binge all the episodes... Did I say I loved this show? Because I do...

You can only watch it on Amazon Prime. You can get a free 30 day trial here.

4. Kobo candles

I can't keep a candle lit in my house because my kids keep blowing them out! But these candles smell so good! I bought these on major clearance in the fall and they are still lasting!

5.The Best Yes

I'm reading this book with a friend. It has been so good for me to analyze my decisions. Two questions I've been asking myself 1. Does this glorify God? 2. Does this benefit my family? If I stretch myself thin with things I don't love and don't glorify God then they aren't a best yes.

6. Last, check out my latest Collin county mom blog post. What would you add to the unspoken mom rules?

That's it! Have an excellent weekend!

Weekly Happenings- Last day of Preschool and comparisons

Yesterday was Henry's last day of preschool! He's had such a wonderful school experience so far and we are so excited about the next chapter in his life- elementary school. My mama heart hurts so bad with him growing up 1. he's my baby. 2. once they start real school then time really does start to fly by!

We are going to enjoy our summer together and make the most of our time together!

Look at my big boy on his last day or school!

 A little comparison

1st vs last day

Yesterday we heard a knock at the door and were greeted by 2 elementary school teachers! They had a welcome package for Henry! He was so excited! He told them he was ready for kindergarten!

And just like that my baby is in kindergarten or as people from Texas say- He's in Kinder.

A Southern Weekend

My sister, dad and I flew to Tennessee Friday morning to attend my twin cousins graduation. Laura and I had too much fun on our mini momvacation.

My Aunt lives in a 100 year old far house. She has renovated it and landscaped it and brought so much life to this old farm!

Laura and I showed up and decorated the porch for the party.

 Isn't that so pretty!

My sister, Kylan and I. (Kylan is a second cousin)

And those are the only pictures I took...

Saturday we spend the day in Alabama and enjoyed brunch with the Bullington Family. We ate and laughed and then all the girls packed up and headed to Huntsville to shop at my cousins new store vintage market The Twisted Tree! You can check it out here! It was so cute and had so many great treasures!

Sunday we ate a southern buffet and headed back to Nashville to fly out! It was a fun getaway!

I hope you had a great weekend!

Weekly Happenings

Our week has been busy.

I did a little thrifting and found these lilly pretties!

My diet has been on point this week! Which is great for me since my will power is not great...

Lucy finished her vendor fair plant pets. These are the plants we cut, rooted, and grew. We decided to make them pets to make them more kid friendly!

I've been getting lots of snuggles from my boys!
That is all. We have a fun weekend planned. The Bosts are coming down and I'm going on a weekend adventure to see some family.

I tried to use the holy spirit for some M&Ms...

I tried to use the holy spirit for some M&Ms. In my defense, they were peanut M&Ms.

My mom and I were taking the kids on an adventure and before we went to the adventure we needed to stop by the store to get some snacks. Before I go any further let me clarify that we were going to the movies and I was smuggling in our own snacks, I did buy popcorn and slushes but I snuck in candy....

My mom and Lucy went in to buy the movie sized snacks for $1 at the local market. As they entered the store I remembered that I loved peanut M&Ms and I needed some. So I called my mom and I could hear her phone ring next to me. Shoot, she left it...

So, I did the only thing I knew to do.

Lord, I don't have a way to contact my mom and I need some M&Ms. We both have access to the holy spirit. Will you put on her heart and in her mind and give her a sense of urgency to buy peanut M&Ms? Obviously if it is your will...

And then I saw my mom and Lucy walking towards the car, I was so excited to see if M&Ms for me was in God's will...

And...

IT WAS NOT...

No M&Ms. I knew better than to use the holy spirit as a vending machine but I tried it anyways...

God is bigger than this and Jesus Can fix-it.

Weekend Review X2...

 Sunday

We celebrated Mother's Day with a trip to church. Henry spent the night with Aunt Laura and I had Emma Grace. Emma Grace woke up and gave me a hug and said, "Happy Aunt Mother's Day!" I love her like she was my own.

After church we drove to the Flower Mound and had lunch and spent the afternoon at the pool. The kids had the best time swimming in the freezing water.

Saturday Night

G-daddy took the two big girls on a date to the Symphony. The girls sat so close that they could see the musicians emptying their spit traps and that was the talk of the night! They had a great time. I can remember my dad taking me to the Birmingham symphony, I would always fall asleep.

While the girls were on their date, Jonathan and I went to a Adoption Finalization Fiesta.

Saturday we also finished our last volleyball game.

Friday Henry and I started our day with Muffins with Mom. I love this sweet boy and his precious preschool.

Henry ate His muffin, my muffin and another just for kicks.

After muffins with mom I ran to the gym for a yoga class. I wore this tank and I don't know if it is worse that I wore it in public or that my mother in law bought it for me... (I love Jesus but I cuss a little...)

Thursday we had Kindergarten Orientation. My kids were so excited!

Henry is ready! I'm having a hard time with my baby going to kinder.

Thursday we also had a playdate with our best Bud.

I also did a story on Instagram about growing plants.... One day I did one on what I ate for the day... Life changing things are happening on my stories... I'm thinking about doing one where I jump out and scare people and film their reaction.... You can follow along HERE or at @mbost20.

Here's a normal lunch for me... I love beets!

Tuesday Henry and I had a lunch date with some special people. Henry was a little irritable during lunch and then passed out once we got in the car.

Alright last weekend we finished all the sports with 2 soccer games, a tot performance and a volleyball game.

Henry improved so much during the season! He even scored two goals during the season.

He had a sweet group of kids and great coaches.

During his tots performance I kept adding up how much money I had spent for him to learn how not to dribble... But he loved it and even wants to play basketball now.

Last Friday Laura and I got together and went thrifting and checked out the Restoration Hardware Warehouse sale. (Not worth going...) We ended our time together with soup dumpling and dreamed of going to New York to eat at JoeShanghia

Now you are caught up!

A couple of Notes-
1. It's almost summer time which means this blog will become less consistent  (most likely...) You can keep up with us on Instagram. I know you need your bost updates on what we are eating...

2. If you liked my dresses in the pictures they all came from thredup.... I love thredup and it has kept me in Lilly all spring! If you are a new customer you can get 40% off your first order. Also if you sign up here you can get a $10 to spend! They are always running coupons and the inventory changes hourly!

God is bigger than this and Jesus Can fix it.
