Mug Exchange

I follow some of the sweetest bloggers that are truly into building community in the blogging world. This month they hosted a mug exchange and partnered us up with another blogger. All of these women are scattered throughout the US and my partner just happened to be Jessica from Live.Love.Reality. and she lives 5 minutes from me!

What are the chances of that?

We decided that since we lived so close to each other we might as well meet in person! You are going to be so happy that Jessica is exactly who she says she is and she didn't kidnap me or kill me when we met at the local Starbucks!

Have you ever had a conversation with someone and it wasn't a struggle? Everything flowed? You could move past the small talk and into actually getting to know someone? That's what it was talking to Jessica! It was so great to meet her and I can't wait to meet up again and encourage each other in life and blogging...

 Here we are before the big reveal!
 (I wear white after labor day because I can, it's not biblical not to, and JC is my only boss!)

 I gave Jessica a mug that I found at Dillard's and it said Namastay in Bed... Which made me laugh. I also gave her a fall candle!

Jessica is a better gift giver and she gave me not one but TWO mugs and a candle!
I opened the small cup first and said this is huge! I love a big coffee cup! Then I opened the second one and was shocked that a coffee cup could be so big and excited to put that baby to good use!

I loved participating in this exchange and meeting Jessica in Real Life! She's perfect! (except she is an Aggie... )

Check out a host to see the other mugs that were exchanged! You can also enter to win a $50 gift card!

MRI + What's up Wednesday

First, Thank you for everyone who has been praying for Jonathan and his MRI that was yesterday. He received another stable scan and we can breath easy for another 3 months until he has his next one. I had some questions on our MRI schedule- the first year after chemo we go every 3 months, the second year he will go every 4 months, and then we will go every 6 months.

I'm participating in a bloggers link called What's up Wednesday, basically it's a catch up of what we are doing....

|| EATING ||
M- spaghetti
T- Chickfila (we ate with my sis after Taylor's football game)
W- Leftovers before youth
T- Sausage balls and fruit
F- Pizza Night
S- Leftovers
S- Chicken salads to start the week.

|| REMINISCING ABOUT ||

With the hurricane news I've been thinking about Turks and Caicos and our trip there in June. I wish I was there to help rebuild or knew how to fix power lines. Most of the island is still in standing water, without power or running water. The country is poor and depends on tourism and that won't be up and running for a few more months.

|| LOVING ||
I'm loving the thought of cooler weather, it's below 90 in Texas this week... so basically it's fall.

|| BEEN UP TO ||
I've been dreaming up a house improvement list. We have set some priorities and I can't wait to get these projects done. See my dream list here.

|| DREADING ||
I've got to tighten up my budget so I will have project money...

|| WORKING ON ||
Painting my laundry room.
I finished Lucy's class boosterthon pennant. unfortunately, she wants to go to Baylor now...

|| EXCITED ABOU T ||

I'm really excited that I can see a little of myself in Lucy... Not because I want her to look like me but because I've always thought they both looked just like Jonathan.

|| WATCHIN ||
We are finishing up season 4 of Person of Interest. We used to love this show and then quit watching real time TV. We have been binge watching on Netflix.

|| READING ||

|| LISTENING TO ||
Praise music on Amazon Music. I just realized I had access to this because of our Prime Account.

|| WEARING ||

I've been shopping my closet again and realized I have a lot of clothes that I love... (because I have to quit shopping because one. I do it to combat stress. two. I need some paint money...)

This was my bible study outfit for last week, it looks fall but is cool enough for our 95 degree days.

|| DOING THIS WEEKEND ||
Soccer games and Volleyball!

|| LOOKING FORWARD TO IN OCTOBER||
Next week the kids have a little fall break and get a 4 day weekend!

|| WHAT ELSE IS NEW ||
My nephew is playing football. He chose a jersey last year without knowing the meaning behind his jersey.... Good thing he had a team of 7th grade boys to tell him.
For laughs he got the same jersey for this year....
I don't know what's funnier- him playing along or us cheering for him with our new badges...
 We love the # 6 + 9!
(I don't want to write it out because I don't want pervs on my blog!)

|| Bonus question this month: What TV show are you most excited about this fall:||

These are all Netflix shows...
I'm looking forward to new seasons of-
Stranger things
Longmire
The OM
The Crown

I hope you have a blessed week and finish it out strong!

God is bigger than this and Jesus can fix it.

Friday Favorites!

A list of my favorite things this week...

one- Sherwin Williams is having 40% off paint today through Monday. I'm going today to buy the paint for my laundry room!

two- Coffee Mug Exchange

Jessica from Life.Love.Reality and I were partnered for the Mug Exchange that a couple of bloggers put together. After exchanging information we discovered 1. we live 10 miles from each other and 2. we have a mutual friend. Instead of mailing our mugs we are going to meet in real life to exchange our mugs! How exciting!

three- Wednesday
Wednesday is quickly becoming my favorite day of the week. It starts with bible study at our church with a group of wonderful, godly, grace-filled women who are hungry for Jesus and his word! Wednesday ends with Jonathan and I volunteering with the youth and I'm so excited about our group of girls this year, after laying the guidelines of safety we could quickly see the girls warming up towards us and letting their guard down. (No completely but a little)

four- coffee date
I have a coffee date with my mom and sister today. My mom is teaching Laura and I a new way to study the bible. After our lesson we are going to go thrifting.

five- thrifting
I ran into a thrift store yesterday and walked out with 6 lululemon skirts. I picked them all up because I knew I had some friends who might want one. (and at $8 for brand new skirts I just couldn't' pass them up!)

That's all I've got! Enjoy your weekend!

Being Home and Updates

I've spent the last two days by myself at home! I have loved every minute of it! I worked on laundry yesterday: washing, folding and putting away, for 4 hours yesterday! I have accomplished so much just by being alone (and motivated...)!

The only downside to being at home so much is I have started adding to my project list and I can't seem to shake the feeling I need to update some things...

New Project list

Paint Laundry room

The walls need a fresh coat of paint and I'm loving the greige of Agreeable Gray. My laundry room is tiny but I think I want to paint the back wall the Naval Blue.

I recently bought this sign for the laundry room and I love to be in there! Right now it's an additional 30% off with free shipping. (not an affiliate link).

Remove Carpet Downstairs

I actually measured the spaces that I wanted to put hardwood in and I just need 900 sq. feet...

Kitchen

I'm looking into having my kitchen cabinets painted and glazed. I love this look!

I'm going to start with the laundry room!

Happy Wednesday!

Weekend Review + Weekly Planning

Friday

Julie and I have been planning a McKinney Trade days trip for months. Friday we made it happen! We arrived early and walked the booths! We both found a few treasures and agreed we might go again!

If any one would like to buy me a present this is at the top of my list. A live oak pullover. It was the softest thing I've ever felt!

This sign made me laugh.
After trade days we ran to McKinney Square and had lunch at spoons. We shared a sandwich meals and split an order of fried okra! I love Fried Okra!

Saturday
We had a soccer game, a volleyball game and then another soccer game. The kids had a great time and we love watching them play! note- we don't' love carting them to all these activities...

What's in my bag.

I'm linking up with Momfessionals and showing off what I keep in my purse for her show and tell linkup!

First thing to know is I like big bags because I like to carry a lot of stuff....

 ( I bought this bag for $5 in the bargain bins at a popup shop in Coppell, tx.

 This is everything in my bag. (minus my keys and phone)

 My lipstick pouch.

My pin pouch.

 My calendar, devotion and a zone perfect bar.
 My  Kendra Scott Wistlet holds all of my money, which includes, my wallet slide, checkbook and bag of giftcards.

Jonathan bought  this money slide (it's on sale..) for me for Christmas and I love it!
(my pen bag says #dancer because I love to dance... or I love to thrift and I haven't found my seam ripper to rip that out...)

I love looking at people's stuff. I can't wait to look through this linkup! Thanks for stopping by and looking through my bag!

An update on time and this space on the internet...

School has been going for three weeks now. I am starting to establish a routine as a kid-less, stay-at-home mom. I've felt a lost in identity and I'm still navigating the waters to my new role. With all this said I still plan to blog, I just haven't figured out when exactly I'm going to do it.

Shouldn't you have more time now that you don't' have kids around you all the time? Yes... Yes, I should. I think I was scared of all the time so I filled it the past weeks. I also didn't like the thought of being alone at home but I've learned that I actually love it!!

Is it amazing having your kids at school all day? Yes. Yes it is. Not because they aren't here but because I can get so much done! I can complete a thought or two and I can work on projects around the house, at the school, or help a friend with her projects. I'm also able to have the house calm when they get home and we just get to enjoy each other.

What have you been doing? (because you haven't been blogging...)

I'm the room mom for Lucy's teacher. It is college week this week so I decorated her door in Baylor garb.... I was going to slop some stuff up on the door (because Baylor...) but then I learned it was a competition and I like to win... So... I painted this Baylor Bear and I made a Baylor wreath and I decorated her door.
 Cute, right?
 Sports has started back up, too! Lucy is playing soccer and volleyball and Henry is playing soccer. That's three practices and games a week.

 This pretty much sums up 5 year old soccer.

 Today is dress like the career you want, Lucy dressed as a teacher and Henry as a engineer.

I'm studying Colossians at women's bible study. I'm also doing Sophia Hudson's devotion during my quiet time.

I've started going back to the gym... And Jonathan and I are volunteering with the youth this year!

There's also a new thrift store in town so I've been checking it out...

So, It's a new beginning for all of us. I plan to keep updating this little space on the internet.

That's it.

God is bigger than this and Jesus Can fix it.

Weekend Review: Labor Day

We traveled to Arkadelphia this past weekend. We left Friday night and didn't arrive until l1. The kids + Wesley slept half the trip!

Saturday morning, Becky and I traveled to hot springs to check out the Grow 75% off sale! Lucy racked up on some designer duds! I love to shop the sale in person but you can also check it out on their Instagram account. We also ran by the Dillards because Becky had a hunch they were going to have an additional sale.... And they were having a secret sale! Everything that was 65% off was an additional 50% off! ( I did the math, that's 82% off the original price!) We scored some great things!

  After our shopping adventure, we went fishing on the pond. Henry loves to fish, he sat so patiently waiting for a bite!
  He actually caught the most fish!

 Look at that sweet face!

I love to fish too! I caught this guy and a catfish!

 The kids had a lot of fun fishing/making as much noise as they possibly could!

 And playing with their catch...

Sunday we decided to take a couple of pictures of the kids together. It was a total fail for the Texas Bosts.

 My kids have excellent poses, especially their hand placement.

The only child that would cooperate was Wesley. This is why he is my favorite child. (He's also the only child I have that got my curly hair....)

 If I could sum up our weekend with a word it would be DRIVING! That's all they did... They drove the mule...

 They drove the golf cart.

They drove the John Deere gator...

There was a trip to the lake and a lot of eating! We love going to visit family and playing in the country!

I hope you have a fun short week!
