How do you spell Jesus?

Henry is big into spelling right now. He love dissecting words into sounds and letters. The other day after church I heard from the back seat of the car say, "Mom, How do you Spell Jesus?" and before I could answer Henry said, "I know. G-O-D..."

I was amazed. Because he is 5 and He has it figured out.

In it's simplest form- Jesus is God.

For the longest time I spelt Jesus B-A-B-Y or M-A-N or N-E-W - T-E-S-T-A-M-E-N-T.

Here are some alternative spellings of Jesus-
Creator
Hero
Friend
Savior - Saver
Father
Infinite
Eternal
Love
Truth
Past, Present, Future
Alive

The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him.  He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. -Colossians 1:15-17

For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, -Colossians 2:9

How do you spell Jesus?

God is bigger than this and Jesus Can fix it.

Weekend Review and Weekly Plan

||Weekend Review||

I sent Jonathan this picture of me and my boyfriend.

Henry had a kindergarten performance at school on Friday. He was dressed as a cow.

Lucy also got to go on the stage to promote the Book Fair!

 Do you spy my cow?

 Henry and His best Bud!

Friday was the Fall festival at our church. I took 5 really bad pictures (below) to commemorate the night.

Henry dressed up as a Halo Master Chief.
(Halo is a video game that his dad introduced to him. They love to play it but it has very inappropriate language and they couldn't remember to play it on mute. Henry has been banned from this game because he called his sister a Jack A$$... which he learned for Halo. Parenting at it's finest....)

(this is a picture of Clark in all his fireman glory!)

Jonathan and Mr. Chad waiting on some candy.

The Huffmans and Bosts were big winner at the cake walk!

 See master chief and Evie

Not pictured was an 8 am Volleyball game and Henry's last soccer game!

Weekend Review + Weekly Plan

||Weekend Review||

Friday started with Wesley sending his kids off to school and then instantly regretting it.

Before Lucy left I took a quick picture of Lucy's Red Ribbon Week poster!

Henry has been begging me to eat lunch with him. Friday I picked up Chick Fila Breakfast and headed to my 10:30 lunch date. Henry sat in my lap the entire lunch and loved on me. I sure do love this little boy!

You can't do one without the other. I sat in the office for an hour reading and waiting for my next lunch date! Lucy requested subway and this mama delivered!

 Saturday we enjoyed soccer games.

Lucy was invited to an all boys birthday party. She was a little intimidated but then jumped right in with the boys.

After the party was the after party... or a volleyball game.

and then the real after party happened!

Sunday I was working on my bible study and Henry told me he needed to work on his sight words. So we sat at the kitchen table for 2 hours and worked together.

Yesterday I chopped up all my salad ingredients and made a giant container of salad for the week. I find if it is already made it is easier to eat!

Friday Favorites

I have a few things to highlight from this week!

1. moisturizer- My sister and I were talking the other day and she said she had just bought the best moisturizer from Sephora. We aren't really try new things kind of people so I was intrigued at this product and why she liked it! She said it really is so hydrating and moisturizing and since she is in Colorado without all the humidity she needs more hydration. She sold me...

2. Books- If you haven't read love and respect I'm going to urge you to buy and read it. I don't want to be dramatic and say it saved my marriage BUT IT SAVED MY MARRIAGE. It's biblical and the holy spirit really convicted me on some things that I was doing wrong. I tested the theory before I told Jonathan about it and Dr. Emerson Eggerichs is on point, it works.

(since reading this book and attending one of his conference Jonathan made the comment- "I feel like we are dating again.".... He also said, "You are being really nice, what's going on?..." I think it can take any marriage from bad to good or good to better)

Eggerichs also wrote this book and I'm going to read it next.

Mother and Sons

3. Cheese- Yesterday I wrote about Mini Babybel Cheese and their cute Halloween costumes. You can check it out Here. It's my kids snack of choice these days!

I hope you have a wonderful week.

A Healthy Halloween!

The other day I was perusing the aisles of target, which is so easy to do now that my kids are both at school, when I came across the cheese aisle. I am no stranger to the cheese aisle, my family loves cheese! While searching for snacks I grabbed a bag of Mini Babybel®  cheese that is wrapped in the cutest Halloween costumes, or at least that is what I told my kids. “Look Cheese in Costume!” They ate it up! (Both my cheesy joke and the cheese)

My kids are starving afterschool so I decided to serve up these Halloween disguised Mini Babybel®  cheese and they were a huge hit! (Which gives me major mom points!)

Here’s what I love about the Mini Babybel®  Halloween wrapped cheese:

1.       It’s the perfect snack size.

2.       It’s Fun- It’s wrapped in the cutest costume- pumpkin, vampire, Frankenstein, and skeletons.

3.       It’s 100% real cheese.

4.       It’s easy- portable (stick it in a lunchbox, snack box or even just on a plate…)

5.       It’s entertaining- My kids have too much fun getting the cheese out of the wax. (so do I)

6.       I served these at a party for the kids but the adults ate them up too!

I also picked up some Mini Babybel® Light for my snack time. Because Mama needs access to healthy treats that are easy to prepare and fun to eat, too! I’d rather eat cheese than Halloween candy that can be so tempting this time of year!

Next time you are at Target check out the new Mini Babybel and Mini Babybel®Light in the cheese aisle. It’s the perfect party food and healthy snack! Can’t beat that!

Have a Healthy Halloween!

Weekly Happenings

October has flown by! Texas finally feels like fall! It's been in the 70's and while everyone is celebrating fall weather all I can think about is Christmas! (Because Christmas is my favorite!)

Here's some things from our past week!

Last week Henry and Lucy ran in the fun run at school. Look at my long legged boy!

Last week I went to the gym and hated every second of it. I didn't want to be there, I didn't want to do anything but I did and I didn't regret it... I hated it but no regrets!

 We enjoyed all the practices...

Thursday I went to the Journey Girls' mug exchange. It was super fun to hear mom/kid stories and trade mugs! I'm excited about mine and have enjoyed drinking coffee from it in the morning.

Friday, My friend Megan and I headed to fort worth to go to the Good will bins. Okay... this is not for everyone. It is gross and crowded but we had so much fun digging through the bins. We are modern day treasure hunters! We met fellow treasure hunters who told us the rules and tips and suggestions on other places to go!
It was a slow day at the bins. I've heard the bins are on constant rotation but we only saw one row change. We ended up not finding anything. We were a little disappointed but it didn't stop us from having fun! We stopped by a few estate sales and then a thrift store!

My favorite part of the day was when we stopped for lunch in Addison! We ate at a diner called the Maple Leaf and it is Canadian. We ate poutine- which is French fries with gravy and cheese curds and it was delicious! Cheese curds turned out to be just soft cheese.
I ate half of this burger and it was delicious!

Saturday was full of soccer games. Lucy played goalie and hated every second of it, there is a lot of standing in that position.

Henry played like a Boss. (or a Bost...)

Saturday night we had a Horn Creek Family Camp Reunion. We loved spending time with these families at camp and love getting to hang in real time too!

Wesley got a hair cut on Monday... which he desperately needed!

Monday night we loaded up in Manna's suburban and headed to Flower Mound to watch my nephew play football.

He's #6 + 9 in the center of the field!

Henry's night was made when the bulldog mascot waved at him.

 Look at my baby girl!

Now you are caught up on our week! I hope you finish this week strong!

God is bigger than this and Jesus Can fix it.
